Individual Therapy​​

 

I provide therapeutic services to teens, young adults, and adults. Therapy may be appropriate for any of a number of issues.

My areas of expertise are listed below. In individual sessions, a safe working relationship can be the context in which goals can be examined and reached.

Social Skills Groups - Spring Sessions Enrolling Now!
Tuesdays March 17 - June 2, 2026 

 

Foundations 

11th - 12th Graders

Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 PM 

                                   

Horizons   

High School Grads - ages 18 - 22*

Tuesdays 5:00-6:00 PM 

*upper age limit is flexible


Process-oriented groups for teens and young adults to practice social skills and experience belonging. Each group will address topics adjusted for the needs and age level of members. Topics include:

 

  • Building confidence

  • Practicing self-advocacy

  • Navigating new situations

  • Using technology in healthy ways

  • Using humor appropriately

  • Handling interactions at school, work, and home

  • Developing personal boundaries

  • Managing social anxiety and post-interaction “second guessing”

  • Understanding social energy (introverts, extroverts, ambiverts)

  • Identifying social “safe zones” and learning how to expand them

     

Areas of Specialty

 

Patients' concerns do not always fall into a convenient category. If you are wondering if I am a good fit for your referral question, but are not sure, feel free to contact me to discuss the matter prior to scheduling an intake appointment. Issues that I commonly treat include:

 

  • Anxiety, including OCD, social anxiety, and generalized anxiety

  • Trauma, including PTSD

  • Depression

  • ADHD, issues of inattention, focus, and impulse control

  • Behavior disorders, including non-compliance at school or in the home

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders, including Aspergers Syndrome

  • Adjustment issues, such as divorce of parents, moving, changing schools

  • Grief / Bereavement

  • Social skills or social awkwardness

  • Maximizing academic giftedness

  • Emotional / behavioral issues impacting academic success

  • Internet or Video Games: over-use or inappropriate use

 

Additionally, I enjoy helping parents with issues such as:

 

  • Setting limits in a complicated world

  • Raising spirited children

  • Navigating divorce in ways that minimize impact on children

  • Fostering positive relationships in blended/remarried families

  • Resolving patterns of sibling or parent-child conflict

  • Co-parenting after divorce
