SERVICES

Telemedicine

Due to the current need for sheltering-in-place, I am offering therapy via telemedicine (phone or video conference) for individuals and families. My preferred platform is Google Hangouts because it is a secure server. However, I am willing to work with other platforms based on your comfort level during this already difficult time. This service is available only to patients located in North Carolina.

Individual Therapy

I provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, teens, and adults. Therapy may be appropriate for any of a number of issues; my areas of expertise are listed below. In individual sessions, a safe working relationship can be the context in which goals can be examined and reached.

Family Therapy

By incorporating members of the family in therapy sessions, we can formulate supports, interventions, and at-home strategies in order to reach identified goals. Sometimes this focuses on helping a specific child improve behavior, social skills, compliance, or manage difficult emotions. Other times the ‘problem’ is not centered on a family member, but is more about difficult relationships or issues with communication. Family therapy provides a safe and effective mode of treatment to improve these issues.

Group Therapy

Groups are an excellent way to address certain concerns, growth areas, or issues. By participating in a group, a teen or child has the opportunity to learn from other people’s experiences, as well as their own. They are able to form new ideas, and practice concrete skills in a safe and fun environment. Finally, for some patients, participation in a group helps to de-stigmatize their experiences, since they are able to identify with peers.
